Hellenurme Mill Museum programme ‘From woodwork to milling’

At the woodwork and milling programme of the Mill Museum, every guest can make a traditional wooden item under the guidance of our experts. Guests will learn about tools and different jobs done at the farm. Then, we will start the old watermill and see how grains are turned into flour with the help of water. At the end of the programme, we will taste bread made in our bakery and have a drink.

Programme duration: 2.5 to 3 hours.
Lunch can also be ordered.

Getting there

When coming from Tartu, take Jõhvi–Tartu–Valga highway (road No. E264). From there, turn left onto Elva and drive along Vapramäe–Elva–Kalme road (road No. 152). From Elva, take Elva–Palupera–Kähri road (road No. 159). Immediately after the Hellenurme bus stop, turn left to the watermill. When coming by Otepää, take Rõngu–Otepää–Kanepi road (road No. 71). From there, turn right onto the Elva–Palupera–Kähri road (road No. 159). After the Hellenurme manor house and before the Hellenurme bus stop, turn right to the watermill.
