Hiking with sled dogs at Järvselja nature reserve

KAHRUNINA, Ahunapalu küla, Kastre vald, Tartu maakond

BOOK View on map

If you love dogs and hiking - this offer could be for you! We invite you to a hike on the wonderful Järvselja nature reserve where you will be accompanied by sled dogs! The hike will take a couple of hours.
Each hiker will have one sled dog using harness, line and belt. Halfway down the Järvselja forest landscape, we will take a longer break, light a fire, and talk about the sled dogs. A campfire is always part of our hikes – it gives a special taste to food, heats up the hikers, and offers light as well as peace of mind.
You can also bring your own picnic basket or order catering from us. The hikes start and end at the Sleddog Training Centre.

When driving on Tartu-Räpina Highway, turn to Võnnu from the Hammaste intersection and drive through the village, cross the River Ahja and turn left towards Järvselja from the next intersection. Drive along this gravel road until the intersection where the signs show right to Meerpalu and Parapalu. Across the intersection, on the left side of the road, there is a farm and next to it is a road, which in 0.5 km will lead you to the Sleddogs Training Centre.
