Tartu Market
Tartu Market is located on the shore of the River Emajõgi, in the open air in the city centre.
Here, you can buy local fresh potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, cherries, sweet morello cherries, and the best pickles and sauerkraut in town.
Next to the market gates, there is a fish stall on wheels, where you can buy everything the River Emajõgi and Lake Peipus and Võrtsjärv have to offer.
Tartu Market even has its own ‘Little India’, where you can buy all kinds of clothes and manufactured goods all year round. Colourful displays and the possibility to bargain with the sellers will make you feel like you are on a southern market.
