Simuna nature studies and hiking trail

The Simuna nature studies and hiking trail is 5 km long, starting behind the Simuna school and ending close to the local spring. You can follow the trail starting from the spring and ending at the school, too. The trail winds its way through pine, fir and birch forests. You will see the enormous trunk of the ‘hugging tree’ and pools of water formed from peat holes, and find out about the mysterious ‘poku’ people who are said to inhabit the forest. Further information about the plants and animals in the area is provided on the illustrated information boards along the trail.
