Supilinn – a district of wooden buildings with a wonderful milieu

Supilinn, located in the immediate vicinity of the city centre, is a unique place because here, the city, the countryside, and nature meet. Supilinn, formed in the middle of the 18th century, is Tartu's historical district. It used to be the slum and suburb of Tartu.

Unique wooden houses in different colours, green gardens, River Emajõgi, and the frog pond are all part of the identity and community of Supilinn. This is complemented by the village swing (at the intersection of Kartuli and Oa Street), the legendary Herne Shop (6 Herne Street), the bakery Saiasahwer (20 Herne Street), unique street art, and the annual District Days carried out in spring.
