Maidla manor

Maidla manor in Ida-Viru County was first mentioned in 1465. The current baroque manor house was completed in 1767 at the request of Georg Ludwig von Wrangell.
Since 1925 the manor has housed a school, as a result of the restoration work which has been carried out on it, it is one of the most grand baroque ensembles in the country to have been so well preserved. The manor can be visited in the summer months during the ‘Forgotten Manors Days’ or by booking an excursion with a guide. Did you know…? *The materials required to construct the manor were all sourced from the local area: lime from Samma manor, and tiles from Purtse and Kalvi manors.
