Oandu küla, Haljala vald, Lääne-Viru maakond
Oandu plant trail is like a natural botanical garden. You will be surprised to find out how many different plants can be found on a 1 km area! In the autumn, it is like an open-air mushroom exhibition there (up to 60 species of mushrooms can be seen there in some years).
However, if you are not interested in mushrooms, it is still lovely and safe to go for a walk there. There is an ice cellar and beds with flowers, vegetables, and herbs from the manor era. In addition to signposts introducing the local plant communities and plants, there are five information boards on the shores of Oandu artificial lake, which introduce the animals living in Lahemaa.
Turn towards Võsu (Palmse) on the 73rd km of Tallinn–Narva road (E20). Continue for 6.5 km along Viitna–Koljaku road to Palmse village. There, turn right towards Sagadi (sign ‘Sagadi 6 km’). Continue on Palmse–Sagadi road, cross Rakvere–Haljala road (sign ‘Sagadi mõis 2,5 km’) and continue until reaching Sagadi Manor. There, turn left (sign ‘Altja kaluriküla 5 km’). Continue for 3 km on Sagadi–Altja road and pass the Oandu camping grounds. In 150 m, you will see a sign ‘Oandu looduskeskus’. The road turns right there. The parking lot with information stands is on the left side of the driveway.
