The New Year is ushered in soulfully by the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra
In January 2023, the orchestra of the Schönbrunn Palace from Vienna will once again perform in Estonia with a program known from the telecast of the first day of the year. The new year can be ushered in with classical music on January 8 at the Alexela concert hall and on January 9 at the Vanemuine concert hall in Tartu.
The Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra will arrive to Estonia in January for the fifth year in a row. On three previous occasions, the performances of the famous Viennese collective went to full houses, and the musicians have received long-lasting standing ovations from the Estonian audience. Traditionally, the orchestra presents a new program and new stars in Tallinn and Tartu at the beginning of the year. The orchestra is loved for its classical soundscape and immediate and charming stage presence. Their concerts are an integral part of Vienna's musical and cultural life.
The Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra was founded in 1997 and is a very professional and high-level traditional Viennese chamber music orchestra. It consists of well-known musicians who have come together from various large orchestras in Vienna. Their performances in the Schönbrunn Palace, where Mozart himself performed in 1786, are a real attraction for classical music lovers, and they are driven from all over the world to hear them. In addition to regular performances at Schönbrunn Palace, their world tours are also very popular with audiences.
The most beautiful melodies of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss will be performed in Tallinn. Among other things, we will hear Mozart's 40th symphony in G minor and unforgettable songs from The Marriage of Figaro and The Gypsy Baron. It also features the overture to The Abduction from the Seraglio and many other classical music masterpieces.
"The musicians of the Schönbrunn Orchestra are fueled by the pure energy and enthusiasm of the audience, and they perform their program with energy and joy," said one critic about her experience. "It's far from a stuffy opera - the concert was energetic and completely absorbed me. The conductor interacted with the crowd in a friendly and generous manner, instructing us when to clap along. Love, betrayal, flirtation, drama and emotions unfolded before our eyes."
The Great Viennese New Year's Concert has been organized for decades, and residents of more than 90 countries, including Estonians, have been able to enjoy it on television. With the Great Viennese New Year's Concert, the music collective sends warm greetings, love, hope and peace to the world.
The Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra will perform at the Alexela Concert Hall on January 8 and at the Vanemuine Concert Hall in Tartu on January 9, 2023. Tickets are on sale in the Piletilevi online store and sales points.
