Sorgu island

Sorgu is a small (5 ha) uninhabited island in Pärnu Bay, near Kihnu and Manija. In the centre of the island, there is a 16-metre lighthouse made from red brick from the year 1904. Once upon a time, a lighthouse keeper lived there with their family, but now, various seabirds, especially cormorants, have taken over the island. In the south, the island is covered in a rock garden and at the end of the summer, sweet dewberries grow here. The north side of the island, however, is covered in trees.

The island is a great destination for kayaking or sailing!

Since 1991, the island has been part of the protected area of the island of Sorgu. The island is prohibited for visitors from 15 April to 15 July for the protection of migratory birds.
