REQUEST INFORMATION View on map

The University of Tartu Botanical Garden offers study programmes and excursions for visitors of all ages. There are more than 10,000 species and varieties of plants in the garden. In addition to natural plants, including rare protected plants, we introduce new decorative plants. In the greenhouses, rainforest and desert plants can be seen.

We are the oldest botanical garden in the Baltic States, operating for more than 200 years in the same location. The garden is designed by world-renowned botanists, professors Ledebour and Bunge. Guests can visit the greenhouses with a ticket, but the garden is open for everyone for free. There is a playground for children.

Unexpected visit

We found the Botanical Garden by accident and were not disappointed. Entrance to the gardens outside is free, so we enjoyed a walk around. There were plenty of signs in English, so we could brush up...

So much greenery

Half of the house was closed, which was disappointing, and since it was already the fall, most of the flowers had already withered. We're definitely planning to visit this place in spring or summer...

City

The park has all the issues you would associate with city living: Lots of not recently showered smelly people around. This place needs to kick out those shady people from this park.
