This route runs along the southern border of Estonia from Valga to Pärnu and provides an important link between routes 1 and 2 and routes 3, 4, 5, 6 and 17. Along this route, you will travel through beautiful countryside with some small hills in the first half and a number of scenic settlements and villages. If you're tired of following the major highways, it's also possible to take routes 5 or 6 that will make the trip much longer but use smaller roads. In Pärnu County, you can also take local routes 363, 364 or 367.
When you begin your cycling trip, keep in mind that most of the route follows the main highway. Fortunately, cycling paths also cover many sections of the trip starting on the way out of Valga, around Tõrva and Helme, in Karksi-Nuia and Abja-Paluoja, on the Tihemetsa – Kilingi-Nõmme section and upon reaching Pärnu, to an estimated 35 km in total.
You can take a train to start the trip or to return home from Valga. There are no other train stops along this route.
