VIITNA KÕRTS, Viitna küla, Kadrina vald, Lääne-Viru maakond
The building of the Viitna tavern is one of the oldest and most precious preserved taverns of its kind in Estonia. The exact day of its construction is not known but it already existed in 1802. In the left wing of the building two chambers for rich folks were located as well as a stable for their horses, today there is a diner and an Estonian handicraft sales booth. The right door leads to the room that was formerly meant for the poor folks and to the stable for their horses, where the tavern is located today. The tavern seats 100 guests, the diner about 32 guests and the chamber for the poor folks is meant for about 30 guests. The barbecue booth with its thatched roof seats approx. 24 and the street cafe about 20 guests.
