25.09.2020

From 15th to 16th October, 17 European chefs will take part in Bocuse d’Or Europe in Tallinn, Estonia to qualify for the grand finale which will take place on 1st and 2nd June 2021 in Lyon (France). The honorary president of the competition is UK culinary icon Clare Smyth.

Clare Smyth opened her first solo restaurant Core in August 2017. A mere eight months after opening, Core was named Best Restaurant at the GQ Food and Drink Awards and Clare was named the World’s Best Female Chef by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. In May, Clare catered the private wedding reception for the Royal Wedding between Meghan and Harry which established her reputation as the culinary icon of United Kingdom.

“It is a great honour to be selected as the honorary president of Bocuse d’Or Europe, the event that brings together the best young chefs all over Europe,” says Clare Smyth. “I am really looking forward to experiencing the professionalism and skills the chefs will show as well as seeing Tallinn,” she added.

Clare Smyth is accompanied behind the Table of Honour by jury president Philip Tessier who himself won silver on Bocuse d’Or in 2015.

A total of 17 participants have been selected for this 7th European edition:
