Celebrations of Estonia's historic 100th birthday in 2018 have already kicked off. Would you like to join in? Even if you can't travel to take part in the centennial, there are events abroad bringing Estonia's culture to the world.

The gift of music 

Estonian jazz musicians will perform at EFG London Jazz Festival in November 2017.

Jazzpresent to Europe 

Five Estonian jazz bands will perform at EFG London Jazz Festival November 10th through 19th, 2017. The Estonian Jazz Union and Jazzkaar have teamed up to bring local jazz music to audiences in the UK, Belgium, Finland and Germany. It is one of many "presents" of Estonian culture in honour of the centennial. View event here

The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir

A concert featuring the best of choral music by Estonian composers, from folk music inspired songs to works by the internationally renowned Arvo Pärt. The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir has performed in Grammy award-winning works and should not be missed at the Barbican Centre in London on January 30th, 2018. View event here

Estonian contemporary art exhibitions and screenings

What is the role of art in democratic societies? The exhibit "Democracy to come" considers just that, with a premier of the documentary '@katjanovi' about young artist Katja Novitskova, and an exhibition by artists Kris Lemsalu and Merike Estna about women's role in society. The Estonian Contemporary Art Development Centre's exhibition series spans March 1st to October 31st, 2018 in the Wilkinson gallery with an accompanying film programme in the Whitechapel gallery.
