The Tarvas sculpture was unveiled in 2002 to mark the 700th anniversary of Rakvere. Situated close to the Order Castle on Vallimägi hill, Tarvas is 7 metres long, stands 4 metres high and weighs 7 tonnes. He stands on a granite base bearing the coat of arms of Rakvere, a brief history of the town in Estonian, Swedish, German, Danish, Polish and Russian and the names of sculpture’s sponsors.
I thought the statue was quite imposing. It is lifelike, aside from the size. It towers over the corner of the street that it is on. If you are in the area, definitely check it out.
Even with bad weather it was really nice and cool.Totally reccommend. Really big and nice. Really greate for a littke cofge breake in city.
Must be the largest bull outside Spain and not even an advertisement for a Sherry Brand. Unmissable if you visit Rakvere castle.
