Saatse Seto Museum

Saatse Seto Museum was opened in the former schoolhouse on 25 July 1974. The museum was founded by the legendary principal of Satserinna School, Viktor Veeber.

The new permanent exhibition of the museum that houses Setomaa's most extensive collection provides information on Saatse as a village surrounding a church, and on the local history and people.

The Museum focuses on the following topics: Seto man, Seto man's work, Seto woman, making clay pots, the Church of St. Paraskeva the Great Martyr and Päätnitsa Day (the Feast of St Paraskeva). If arranged beforehand, you can also visit the church.

The museum has a spacious yard and a beautiful park with a study trail, located just a few hundred metres from the Russian border.
