Lydia Koidula monument

Koidula park in the Pärnu centre is one of the most loved parks in the town, you can enjoy the beauty of flowers and the babbling of fountains. Lydia Koidula (1843-1886) was known poetess, publicist, and a social figure from the national awakening period, as well as the author of the first play in Estonian. Pärnu was the town of her youth. In 1925 it a decision to build a monument and park dedicated to her was made. The opening ceremony of the sculpture by Amandus Adamson was held in 1929. This is also the last work of the sculptor.
