Sculpture of 'Kihnu Jõnnu'

On 14 May 2011 this sculpture of the legendary seaman 'Kihnu Jõnnu' a.k.a. Enn Uuetoa finally made it to Pärnu with the support of the Pärnu Rotary Club and many others. The captain stands in a very appropriate spot – on the grounds of the Pärnu Yacht Club, which is well-known as a meeting place for men of his rank. The sculpture was created by Tauno Kangro. Its base bears the names of its supporters and the captain's famous phrase "My word this is a good ship - it breaks the waves!". There is an information board next to the sculpture.
