Lamprey Festival
Lampreys are a very rare species of fish; however, in Narva-Jõesuu, lampreys have been fished since prehistoric times. During the traditional Lapmrey Festival, a fish market is open for fishermen as well as those who simply love fish. Here you can buy fresh fish as well as various fish products. You can also try different dishes made of lampreys. You can also go out on the river with fishermen to see for yourself how lampreys are caught.
The lamprey is a fish with a body like a snake's and resembling an eel at first glance.
