Bear-watching at Alutaguse

On this excursion we set out into brown bear territory, finding out how they live their lives and spending a night in an observation cabin. First we find out about their habitat, looking at scratches on tree trunks, their paw prints, their excrement and other signs of their presence. In the evening we make our way to the cabin, where we quietly settle down and wait. Bears are so afraid of humans that they will flee in panic at any sign of our being around. We will need to keep our eyes peeled at sundown and sunrise, since that is when the bears are at their most active. We set out from the cabin at 8.00 am. The trip is organised by Estonian Nature Tours.
