The German composer, producer and arranger Sven Helbig belongs to a generation that no longer recognises the boundaries between classical and popular music. His composition I Eat the Sun and Drink the Rain, which has been called a post-humanist manifesto, deals with the relations between man and nature and culminates with the end of the age of machines. The work is composed for choir and electronics and is based on texts written by the composer himself. In 2016, it was also released as a CD, performed by Vocalconsort Berlin and conducted by Kristjan Järvi.
