On World Tourism Day on 27 September, Visit Estonia will once again hold its annual Tourism Conference and the topic of this year’s conference is “Digital Smoke Sauna?”. We are on the doorstep of the 100-year-old Republic of Estonia, which makes questions such as “Is this the future we wanted?” or “What is our story and vision and what to do with it in the real world?” more justified than ever.
These are the questions that the top performers invited by Visit Estonia will be trying to answer. Be ready to take notes as futurologist and trendspotter Magnus Lindkvist from Sweden will share his thoughts about the future, coming from Ireland, Dr. James McCabe who has also been present in creating various TV and film scenarios will talk about the fundamentals of brand building, and writer and opinion leader Doug Lansky, who is known to attract crowds to the ITB Berlin International Tourism Conference, will talk about designing experiences and smart destinations.
In addition to that, Henrik Hololei will discuss the Estonian transport outlook and vision, we will make clear whether Estonian tourism continues to lag behind rapidly moving technology or not and listen to the experiences of Iceland Tourst Board in regard to the creation of their own national image and attraction of visitors. Furthermore, participants can take part in opinion panels – which will hopefully involve contradictory opinions – and it may be a good idea to prepare questions for this!
The evening shall be made especially celebratory in honour of Estonia 100, as the best and the greatest shall be recognised at the awards gala which will take place in the Estonia Concert Hall, and in addition to it all, there will also be dancing!
Be sure to write down the date and share it with your friends and colleagues!
The participation fee of the conference is 50 euros (VAT included) for members of professional tourism associations and 60 euros for other participants; the ticket for the Tourism Gala is 50 euros (VAT included) and it is possible to bring a date (ticket 50 euros as well).
See you at the Kosmos IMAX cinema and the Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn!
The Tourism Gala, which will be held in the evening after the Tourism Conference, is supported by Finnair, the city of Tallinn, Tallink and Amadeus.
