Muuseumi tänav 10-Obinitsa muuseum, Obinitsa küla, Setomaa vald, Võru maakond
The Obinitsa Museum offers an opportunity to learn about the unique history and culture of Setomaa through exploring the family life, traditions and customs of Seto families. The items in the cosy museum come from the surrounding villages; we place a particularly high value on the fine handicraft of Seto women.
Good to know: In 2015, Obinitsa village bears the title of the Finno-Ugric Culture Capital. This year, the village therefore offers opportunities to learn about the cultures of different Finno-Ugric nations.
You can get tourist information on Setomaa and the Põlva and Võru Counties and use the internet in our Tourist Information Point. You can also buy Seto handicrafts, books, CDs and DVDs in Seto language or about the Setos here.
