It is an old fishing harbour. In the harbour, you will find the Sõru Museum, the Maritime Centre, and the boat shed. The Sõru Pub is open in summer and the Sõru Maritime School offers sailing lessons for children and adults.
The harbour is a well-known venue for major events. The most popular events are Sõru Jazz and Sõru Saund.
The largest surviving old ship in Estonia is also located in the harbour – the three-masted motor sailboat Ernst Jaakson (Alar).
