If you want to get away from the noise of the city, you should set your sights on the parks and hiking trails of Estonia. Here you can take in the fresh air and enjoy the sounds of nature. After all, Estonia is ranked third in the world for its abundance of marshes and wetlands! Several marshes have hiking trails that run for several kilometers, often with observation towers with beautiful views of the surroundings. When walking through the wetlands, be sure to pay attention to the changing colours of the shrubs and plants.

  • The Kakerdaja bog is one of the largest in Kõrvemaa and you can hike there on the 8 km nature trail. Thousands of waterfowl stop by in the marshland during spring and autumn.
  • Walking along the Tolkus bog, there is an 18-metre observation tower by the ridge, offering views of the surrounding nature and Pärnu Bay.
  • The 3.5 km Viru bog is a forest and bog landscape of Lahemaa. There is a boardwalk through the area with a lookout tower in the middle.
  • Meenikunno Mire is a beautiful place in Põlva County with numerous marsh plants and peat mosses. with a 5.8 km long trail that is set up for hiking.
